Creating improved worship spaces for better worship

Simple Raiment Studio is the business of Bryan Schneider-Thomas.  It was established in 2000 with the goal of providing liturgical design consultation and liturgical art.  The studio’s services include: full liturgical design consultation, partial consultation, educational and formational workshops on worship space or art for worship, and liturgical hangings and vestments.  The name Simple Raiment and the daylily logo allude to Luke 12:27, "Consider the Lilies of the field..."  The studio understands its goal to be helping each congregation discover the simple raiment which will make it shine in glory.

Mission and purpose

The mission in developing Simple Raiment Studio was to provide protestant denominations assistance in developing buildings that serve their ministry and facilitate their worship.  To this end, Bryan has developed a process that helps analyze current ministries and their needs, assess new ministry potential, and develop a plan to accommodate both in a renovation or building process.

Simple Raiment Studio strives to serve congregations of all sizes and resources.  Because every congregation is unique, every consultation must be also.  No two projects are exactly alike, each is tailored to the needs and desires of the given parish.  At times this has meant that projects have included additional Bible studies and workshops on ministry to help the congregation become a vital church once more.  The goal of the process is to meet the needs of the congregation.

Liturgical Design Consultation

In liturgical design consultation, a consultant works with a congregation to assist them through the process of building or renovating.  Especially important when working on worship space, the consultant will help the congregation develop a building that fits their needs, worship style, and ministries.

Liturgical Art

Visual art can help develop the experience of the divine in a worship space.  The goal of liturgical art is to support and facilitate the acts and experience of worship.  Simple Raiment Studio can assist a congregation with custom designs, finished works, or technique workshops that equip members of the congregation to develop their own art.
